We welcomed Ruby into our family in June 2016.  I LOVE reds, and have made leaps and bounds in cleaning up the red lines I have worked with for the last 4 years, but not all my pups remain DEEP red.  This is a problem for me, because I strive to reach the highest standard.  Even with genetic testing for color, I was struggling with this issue with a few pups from each red litter.

As you can see Ruby is a fantastic DEEP Red, she has not faded at all in the last 6 months I have had her.  Her age appropriate testing is complete and she is free and clear of the diseases listed below.  Ruby is going to be tall and lean with very rich color.  Her personality has been a very interesting evolution.  When I first got her she was really nervous, refused to come into the house for well over 5 months.  I literally was dragging her in kicking and screaming, finally gave up on that!  She became an outside dog, and seemed very happy.  Then when she turned 8 months old, a clearly defined switch turned on and she longed to be with me.  So I began to let her in the house again and to sleep next to my bed.  She just can’t get close enough.  It has been a wonderful change that I did not expect, but am enjoying her company.

My plan is to pair her up with a Male bred from Jojo and Charlee who have the most fantastic deep reds that don’t seem to be fading.  I am looking forward to enjoying her company until she is ready to be a mommy for all the families dying to get a deep red from Springer Clan Standard Poodles.  Hang in there, its coming!!!

Ruby is 25.5in at the shoulder and weighs a varying weight of 50-53lbs
